구내용

응용환경미생물실험실 (Applied and Environmental Microbiology Laboratory, AEML)에서는 환경미생물 또는 효소를 활용하여 농업부산물(볏짚, 폐목재 등) 유래 리그닌을 생분해하고, 유용한 유기화합물을 획득하는 등의 가치화연구를 수행하고 있음. 또한, 환경미생물의 대사기작을 이용하여 농업환경에 잔류하는 농약을 포함한 환경오염물질을 생분해하여 토양 생태계를 개선하고, 궁극적으로 보다 건강한 농업환경 조성을 목표로 함. 이를 위하여, 다양한 오염 환경으로부터 유용 미생물 분리와 생화학적 특징 조사 및 미생물 유전체와 대사체 분석을 수행하고 있음.
